Liposuction

Liposuction, a widely sought-after cosmetic surgical procedure in Turkey, offers a solution to rid your body of unwanted fat that may be resistant to traditional methods like exercise and a balanced diet. This transformative procedure involves the precise removal of localized fat deposits, resulting in a more sculpted and proportionate physique.

The Versatility of Liposuction

Liposuction is an incredibly efficient and versatile solution, addressing a variety of areas on the body and helping individuals achieve a more defined shape and balanced proportions. Commonly treated areas include the buttocks, hips, thighs, abdomen, chin, upper arms, breasts, and knees.

How is Liposuction Performed?

Liposuction involves the removal of excess fat tissue located just beneath the skin’s surface, using a thin metal cannula inserted through small incisions (usually 3-5 mm in size) strategically placed on the skin. The choice of cannula and the amount of fat to be removed are carefully selected for each patient’s unique needs.

The cannulas used for liposuction vary in diameter (ranging from 2-5 mm) and length (ranging from 10-45 cm). Before the procedure, a specially prepared solution is injected into the treatment area to break down the connective tissues between the fat cells, facilitating the fat removal process. This traditional liposuction method is known as the classical approach.

Additionally, there is another method called laser liposuction, which serves two purposes. It not only aids in breaking down connective tissues but also heats the collagen beneath the fat tissue during the procedure. This method is particularly effective for younger individuals with mild sagging, while patients with more advanced sagging may require combined procedures.

Recovery and Aftercare

Following liposuction in Turkey, patients are typically advised to wear a compression garment during the recommended recovery period. These garments provide elastic compression, preventing bleeding in the liposuction area, as well as the accumulation of blood, hematoma, and seroma.

Some edema and bruising are expected in and around the liposuction area, but these usually significantly improve within 6-8 weeks. The treated area typically requires about 8 weeks for full recovery, with the surgical traces continuing to improve for up to 6 months.

Patients who undergo liposuction surgery can generally stand and walk around the clinic after 4-6 hours, provided they are in stable condition. Social life can typically be resumed immediately after the surgery, with just a one-night hospital stay recommended.
